The problem

Products disapproved, prices wrong. The campaign is waiting for the feed.

A Google Shopping feed usually comes about on the side: from a store app, a plugin or a spreadsheet. Google checks every product against its specification and against your website, and whatever doesn’t match gets disapproved or isn’t shown. If you fix that by hand, you start over with every change.

  1. Disapproved, cause hidden in the diagnostics.

GTIN missing or invalid, brand missing, variants without an item group. Merchant Center reports it product by product, and the list grows with every import.

  2. Price in the feed, different price on the site.

Google compares the two. If the feed differs, Google corrects the price itself, and if it happens often, it disapproves the product.

  3. Sold out, but available in the feed.

To Google, that’s misrepresentation. Missing shipping costs hide products, and for serious violations Google suspends the account without warning.

  4. Every country is a feed of its own.

Austria needs its own shipping details, Switzerland a different currency, France a different language. Maintained as a file, one feed quickly becomes half a dozen.

A feed from your store takes both off your hands: patching things up and losing out.

What’s piling up in your Merchant Center? We’ll take a look in the audit.

Our approach

Automate first. Then optimize.

Many agencies maintain feeds as a file: export, fix things in the spreadsheet, upload, and start over at the next error. We build the feed once from your store, with rules for the whole catalog. Whatever we improve after that applies to every product.

How it works

Maintain it once in your store. Up to date in Merchant Center.

Your store stays the single data source. The feed translates it into Google’s specification, for each country in its own language, and sends prices and availability to Merchant Center on its own.

  1. You manage your store.

Products, prices and inventory as before, in Shopify, WooCommerce or your PIM.

  2. We build your Google Shopping feed.

Title, Google product category, GTIN, brand, item group and shipping to Google’s specification, one feed per country in its own language. Everything in your Channable account, which belongs to you.

  3. The rest runs on its own.

Prices and availability go to Merchant Center through the API, with no file and no upload. Whatever you change in your store is in the feed on the next run, and Google doesn’t have to correct anything after the fact.

One product. One feed row per country.

In your store
“Trail running shoe”
In the Google Shopping feed for Germany
“Trail Laufschuh Herren, Grau, Gr. 43”
In the Google Shopping feed for Austria
“Trail Laufschuh Herren, Grau, Gr. 43”
In the Google Shopping feed for France
“Chaussure de trail homme, gris, taille 43”
  • Required fields to Google’s specification
  • Google product category assigned
  • Each variant one row, linked as an item group
  • Price and availability from your store
  • Already have a Merchant Center with a feed?

Then it stays your Merchant Center. We build the new feed with the same product IDs, so your products keep their history, and the old file goes away.

  • Your agency runs the campaigns?

Then that stays the same. We build the feed, and your agency gets clean data and custom labels to structure its campaigns.

  • The Channable account is yours.

You get a handover and documentation and can step in yourself at any time.

FAQ about the Google Shopping feed

Your question isn’t here? Ask it in the audit, that’s what it’s for.

What does the Google Shopping feed cost?

You pay for the feed once, at a fixed price. Every additional country costs less, because data and rules are already in place. No hourly rates, no revenue share. We tell you the price in the first call, not after three.

How fast will the feed be live?

Within 7 business days. The clock starts as soon as we have access to your Channable account, the data source is connected and you’ve selected the products.

Do we need Channable?

Yes, Channable is the engine of the feed. If you don’t have an account yet, you create one and invite us. You pay the license directly to Channable, and the account belongs to you. If you already use Channable, we build the feed in your account.

Do you also run our campaigns?

No. We build the feed, and you or your agency run the campaigns. A clean feed is the foundation for that.

What do we need in Merchant Center before we start?

A Merchant Center account with a verified website, business details and shipping settings for every country you sell to. If you don’t have that yet, we’ll go through it together on day one. For Shopping campaigns, you link Merchant Center to your Google Ads account. Google reviews new products for up to 72 hours, and that’s built into the timeline.

We also sell to Austria and Switzerland. One feed or three?

Three. Google expects a separate data source for each country and language, with its own shipping details and the local currency, so Swiss francs for Switzerland. The feed for the first country carries the rules, and every additional country builds on it and costs less. Just like for a brand whose Google feeds we build for six countries.

We already have a feed from a store app or our agency. What happens to it?

Your Merchant Center stays as it is. We build the new feed in Channable with the same product IDs, so your products keep their history, and hand it over through the API. You then turn off the old file or app. Along the way, we work through disapprovals and warnings from the diagnostics.

Our products are being disapproved, or the account is suspended for misrepresentation. Does the feed help?

With disapprovals, yes: a missing GTIN, brand or item group, prices that differ from the website and wrong availability are data, and the feed gets that data in order. With a suspension, we check what Google objects to in the product data and shipping details; you file the appeal yourself. We’ll look at your situation in the audit.

Which store systems work?

We know Shopify and WooCommerce best; other systems work if they deliver clean data: GTINs, brand, variants, images in the right size. We check what your system delivers on day one.

What do you need from us?

Access to your Channable account and to Merchant Center, the data source (your store or PIM) and a selection of which products should go into the feed. Other than that, there’s nothing to prepare.

What don’t you do?

Campaigns, bids and budget, setting up Performance Max, comparison shopping services, the contract with Google and the appeal against a suspension. A single fix to someone else’s feed is the exception; bring it up in the audit. If Google changes its rules later, we adapt the feed on request.

Does the feed also work for Performance Max and free listings?

Yes. Shopping campaigns, Performance Max and free listings in Merchant Center all use the same feed. Which of them you run, you or your agency decide in Google Ads.
